These functions are grouped according to the following subdirectories: audio, combinatorics, comm, control, econometrics, fixed, general, geometry, gsl, ident, image, io, irsa, linear-algebra, Makefile, miscellaneous, octcdf, optim, parallel, path, plot, signal, specfun, special-matrix, splines, statistics, strings, struct, symbolic, time, and vrml. . While the main Octave distribution is conservative about accepting new functions and changes, octave-forge is very open.
